LDAP Users (--ldapusers)

Objects with this attribute

Usage

Object Manager LDAP Users Enter one or more distinguished names (DNs) of users in an LDAP directory.
Command line --ldapusers user_dn... Enter one or more DNs of users in an LDAP directory.

Description

Allows you to give an application or group of applications to the users that match the DNs of users in an LDAP directory.

Use LDAP-style names for the list and use a comma (,) separator instead of a slash (/). See the example below.

If a user matches any of the names in the LDAP directory server, they will receive the application or group of applications on their webtop. These applications are in addition to any applications they would have on the webtop for their login profile.

The LDAP directory server used is the one specified for the LDAP login authority on the Tarantella Login properties panel in Array Manager.

This attribute is only available if you have installed a Directory Services Integration license key.

Currently this feature is only supported on Sun™ ONE (formerly Netscape or iPlanet) version 4.1+ directory servers.

Examples

--ldapusers uid=violet,ou=Sales,dc=indigo-insurance,dc=com uid=emmarald,ou=Marketing,dc=indigo-insurance,dc=com

Assigns the application or groups of applications to users with the UID "violet" in the Sales department and the UID "emmarald" in the Marketing department.
