When you make changes to an array of Tarantella servers, printers are not reconfigured and so print jobs may be wrongly directed. When you make an array change, a warning message displays advising you that you may have re-configure your printers manually. The warning displays when:
Whether you have to re-configure or not, depends on the application server and the change made:
Application server type | New array | New primary | New secondary |
---|---|---|---|
UNIX | No | No | Yes |
Windows 2000/2003 | No | No | No |
Windows NT 4 | Yes | Yes | No |
Windows NT 3.51 | Yes | Yes | No |
Windows (SCO Merge) | Yes | Yes | No |
If you add a new secondary Tarantella server, you must install a new printer on your UNIX application servers for the new secondary.
if you create an array or change the primary Tarantella server in an array, you must re-configure the printers on your Windows NT 4, NT 3.51 and SCO Merge application servers so that they 'point to' the new primary server.
