Which proxy servers are supported?

To use Tarantella with a proxy server, the proxy server must support tunneling.

If you use the Tarantella Java™ clients, you can use manually configured or auto-configured HTTP, Secure (SSL) or SOCKS v5 proxy servers. The proxy server settings are inherited from the browser via the Microsoft Virtual Machine or the Sun™ Java™ Plug-In.

If you use the Tarantella Native Clients, you can use HTTP and SOCKS v5 proxy servers. These have to be manually configured.

See configuring proxy server settings on clients for details of how clients can be configured.

To use Tarantella with an HTTP or a Secure (SSL) proxy server, you must install a Tarantella Security license key.

Support for SOCKS v5 proxy servers is included in the Tarantella Base Component. Tarantella supports the Basic and No authentication required authentication methods. No server-side configuration is required.
